JST the final round was a real nail biter. As
Whitstable werent able to host a home round, we had to play at
Purley, a neutral venue. The girls knew they had a fight
on their hands if they wanted to qualify for the A finals, and
what a fight they put up. In the event they are due to go
to the B finals, missing out by just 1 point The boys knew
they were in with a chance of making the B finals if they had a
good day, the group leaders were too far in front to be caught.
Ashley was inspired and bowled the Zone high series today of
627, to lead the team to the B Finals. Elliot retains his
Zone high game of 244 |
Finals, In the event Raynes girls were promoted to
the A final, as highest average "losers". In the qualifying
rounds, things were really tight, and once again we found
ourselves in a 3 way tie for the places in the next round.
Having lost last year, we were determined it wasnt going to
happen again, and our girls easily came through that match to
make the afternoons final session. Having to play the extra
qualifying game left us about 20 mins to find and then eat
something for lunch. It all proved too much and we fell at
the next hurdle. Still the girls played really well all
day. For the boys, playing on the Saturday in the
Bfinal, they managed to get into the afternoons session,
but they too struggled after lunch in the knock out sessions.
Still all enjoyed it, and we will be back at the finals next
year, I am sure |
